Brantford housekeeper charged with theft

A Brantford housekeeper has been charged with several theft and fraud charges.

Halton Police say that an Oakville resident reported that between January 2016 and April 2016 a female who she employed as a housekeeper stole approximately $20,000 worth of jewelry while cleaning her home.

The female housekeeper, who had unsupervised access during the thefts also stole several pieces of identification from her employer, redirected her mail and applied for several credit cards in the employer’s name.

The housekeeper purchased several items with the illegally obtained credit cards including large household appliances and building materials.

41 year old, Sherry Lori-Lynn Champagne from Brantford was by police on Thursday and was issued a search warrant to recover other stolen and illegally purchased items.
