Brantford, Hamilton police investigate online threats at local hospitals

Police in Brantford and Hamilton are investigating Thursday after a hospital in each city received an online threat.
Hamilton police say they were called to Juravinski Hospital around 11 a.m. following a report of a bomb threat emailed to staff.
Hamilton police spokesperson Jackie Penman says multiple organizations received the threat but did not specify which organizations.
Officers attended the hospital but have since cleared the scene.
BPS were on scene at the Brantford General Hospital- @BCHSYS earlier today after receiving a report of online threats. A lockdown was initiated and has since been lifted. The accused is in custody in another jurisdiction.

Meanwhile, Brantford police responded to Brantford General Hospital earlier Thursday following a report of online threats of gun violence.
Brantford General Hospital was placed in lockdown, but it has since been lifted.
Brantford police say the accused is in custody in Kingston and there is currently no threat to public safety.
Hamilton police say they cannot confirm whether the two threats are connected.
