Brantford duo arrested after $28K in drugs, replica firearm found during traffic stop

Two Brantford residents are facing multiple charges after a replica firearm and several drugs were found during a traffic stop.
Officers were near the intersection of East Ave. and Alfred St. around 9 p.m. on Monday when their cruiser was nearly struck by a vehicle.
Police pulled the vehicle over and began speaking with the male driver.
During the conversation, police say the officers saw a firearm and drug paraphernalia in clear view.
Police seized cocaine, fentanyl, methamphetamine, crack-cocaine and a replica firearm.
The estimated street value of the drugs is more than $28,000.
James Wilson, 31, is facing multiple charges including four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of weapon for dangerous purpose.
Lynn Jacques, 35, also faces drug-trafficking charges.
Police say both have been held for a bail hearing.
