Brantford celebrates winter

Brantford is celebrating the winter this weekend with its annual Frosty Fest.
Kids and their families spent the day tobogganing and enjoying the outdoors. The event also includes figure skating, both for spectators and participants.
The festival even has an ice carving competition, drawing competitors from near and far. Visitors could even practise their golf with a little ice mini put.
The event draws about 15,000 people to Brantford every year.
“We looked at our city, and we said, what would this city need in the middle of winter?” said organizer Dave Carrol. “We threw a winter carnival and it has become one of the most popular events in the city.”
Brantford’s Frosty Fest runs until 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
