A Brampton homeowner has been fined following a massive house party this weekend.

Bylaw officers say they broke up a 200-person party at a home in the area of Countryside Dr. and Goreway Rd. on Saturday night.

Peel Police say neighbours called to complain about the event around 10 p.m.

It took about an hour to clear everyone out.

In a news conference Monday, Premier Doug Ford said the full weight of the law should be thrown at “yahoos” congregating and not respecting public health measures.

“Bunch of jokers think it’s okay to have a party,” Ford said.

Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown says bylaw officers charged the the property owners.

“The matter will be going to court. Maximum penalty is $100,000. Reckless behavior is expensive,” Brown tweeted.

Brampton, along with the rest of Peel Region, remains in Stage 2 of reopening.

Under those rules, the maximum number of people allowed to get together is ten.
