Brampton daycare worker charged after 2 kids seriously injured

Police have charged a woman with criminal negligence after two young children suffered serious injuries while at a home daycare in Brampton.
Authorities say the first incident dates back to Sept. 20, 2023 after a 2-year-old boy suffered a “serious injury.”
Investigators say they then learned of another similar incident involving the caretaker and another child that stretched back to March of 2020, when a 3-year-old girl suffered serious injuries.
Police have arrested 44-year-old Chereen Zeidan from Brampton, who they’re accusing of committing two counts of criminal negligence causing bodily harm.
Zeidan was scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 12.
Police say the investigation remains ongoing and have reason to believe there may be additional victims.
Officers with the department’s special victims unit are asking anyone who may have experienced a similar incident to contact them by calling 905-453-2121.
