Update: Male arrested for attempted murder of a child

Update:
A 28 year-old Brampton man has been arrested and charged with attempted murder, after a 5 year-old boy was found severely injured near train tracks.
Police say that they received a call shortly after 6:00 this morning about a 5 year-old reported missing from his home on McHardy Court in Brampton.
They say the child was last seen at around 2:00 a.m. and was found shortly before 7:00 a.m. by a k9 officer near the train tracks. The boy was unconscious and showed with signs of physical trauma with severe head injuries.
He was taken to hospital by paramedics where he was said to be in life threatening but stable condition. He was later transported to Sick Kids in Toronto where he remains in critical but stable condition.
Peel Police have arrested and charged 28 year-old Dyon Smart of Brampton with attempted murder, aggravated assault, fail to comply with recognize and breach of probation order. Smart appeared at the Brampton Court of Justice for a bail hearing this afternoon. Police are saying that the accused and the victim knew each other.
