Army Private Bradley Manning is off the hook for the most serious of 21 counts he’s facing for providing U.S. government secrets to WikiLeaks.

Manning has been acquitted of aiding the enemy, a charge that carried a possible life sentence without parole.

He was convicted of five espionage counts, five theft charges, a computer fraud charge and other military infractions. The 25-year old acknowledged giving the website hundreds of thousands of battlefield reports, diplomatic cables and videos three-years ago, but says he didn’t think it would harm troops or threaten national security.

Manning’s sentencing hearing begins tomorrow.
