Halton police are reminding people to stay clear of construction sites after a boy had to be rescued from a muddy pit in Milton Tuesday night.

Police say the eight-year-old was playing with a neighbour at a construction site off Rose Way, near Britannia Rd., around 5 p.m. Tuesday when the boy got stuck.

The other child ran home for help.

Firefighters were able to rescue the boy from the pit.

He was taken to hospital as a precaution but is said to be okay.
