The Bosma Murder

Tim Bosma’s accused killers are expected to go on trial next year. It’s been just under a year since the Ancaster father went missing after taking two men for a test drive in the pick-up he was selling online.
Tim Bosma’s family released a statement today. They write, “Earlier today, we were informed of the additional charges laid against the two men accused of taking Tim’s life. we extend our most sincere condolences to the Babcock family. The eight days we searched for Tim were eight days of indescribable emotions. We can only imagine what the last almost two years have been like for the Babcock family. Our prayers are with those that are hurting with this news today.”
It was May 6th 2013 that Tim Bosma went missing. He left his rural Ancaster home with two men. They were taking his pickup on a test drive, and he never returned.
Bosma’s family and friends lead a relentless search to find him, which spread across Southern Ontario. His wife Sharlene delivered a powerful and emotional plea for her husband’s return.
Bosma’s burned remains were found about a week after he went missing on a farm in Ayr. The farm belonging to Dellen Millard, and soon after, the 28-year old was charged with murder. 26-year old Mark Smich was arrested and also charged in Bosma’s death.
As the search of Millard’s farm continued, police began investigating the disappearance of Millard’s former girl friend, Laura Babcock. That’s when police re-opened the case of Millard’s father’s death. It was originally thought to be a suicide.
CHCH reached out to Millard’s lawyer for comment, but have yet to hear back. Millard and Smich have been held in jail since their arrest.
Their next court date in Bosma’s muder is on April 24th at Hamilton’s Sopinka courthouse.
It’s unclear how or if Hamilton Police were involved in laying Thursday’s charges.
