The ex-girlfriend of one of the two men on trial for Bosma’s murder wrapped up her testimony today. Marlena Meneses told court she thought Dellen Millard was creepy while under cross examination by Mark Smich’s lawyer.

Meneses said she didn’t like her boyfriend’s best friend from the start, he made her uncomfortable. She and Smich’s sister, we heard today, tried to get Smich to stay away from Millard. When Meneses was asked whether she felt comfortable around Dellen Millard, her boyfriend Mark Smich’s best friend, she said no not at all.

“He would make sexual comments, hit on me, look me up and down. He slapped my bum before.”

She said Millard seemed to enjoy watching her and Smich fight, and suggested having a breakup party. She says she told Smich to get away from Millard. Smich was the first person who made her feel good about herself, her first boyfriend that lasted longer than six months, he helped her, they were joined at the hip, the jury heard.

Meneses and Smich together decided to get drugs out of Millard’s house after he was arrested because, she says, they wanted to smoke the pound of weed. Smich was shocked and surprised when he also got a toolbox with a murder weapon inside, Meneses said. She and Andrea Smich told him to get rid of it, not to sell it, or hand it over to police. He told Meneses he wrapped it in duct tape and buried it in the woods.

Tomorrow we expect to hear from the last crown witness, Christina Noudga.
