It was another day of dramatic testimony at the Tim Bosma murder trial.

The witness on the stand today Matt Hagerman’s main involvement in this case was taking a yellow toolbox from Dellen Millard and hiding it shortly before his friend was arrested. That toolbox was empty when recovered, but the crown believes it held a gun. There was gunshot residue inside.

Early morning on May 10, 2013 Hagerman gets a message saying Millard is feeling heat and wants Hagerman to hold something. Hagerman asks: “can you tell me what these toys are so I can prepare myself?”

Millard says: “a tool box.”

Hagerman answers: “haha full of guns?”

Millard responds with: dot dot dot.

And just after 4am, shortly before arriving with the toolbox, he writes the number “2”

Hagerman says he thought the toolbox held drugs as it always did in parties at Millard’s house. Millard asked another friend, Andrew Michalski to hold onto a backpack that smelled like marijuana.

After Millard’s arrest, the friends decided to dump their evidence with Mark Smich. As they were driving toward Oakville where he lived, they heard a news report about Tim Bosma’s disappearance, and that Millard was the main suspect.
