Boots On The Ground, Brock University to offer wellness program for Ontario veterans

Boots On The Ground and Brock University have partnered to offer a 12-week wellness program called ‘Comrades in Well-Being’ for Ontario veterans, with a focus on peer support and mental health improvement.
The entire program is funded by True Patriot Love, a foundation dedicated to supporting Canada’s military community.
It aims to support military members, including veterans and their families, at every stage of their journey.
CHCH News spoke with Sean Maher, a veteran who served in the army from 1988 to 1995.
He was diagnosed with PTSD in 1999 and underwent multiple treatments over the years to recover.
Maher believes this program can benefit veterans seeking alternative ways to enhance their mental health after trying various treatments.
The program includes an in-person portion followed by an online component.
‘Comrades in Well-Being’ is led by Dr. Tiffany Hunt and psychological associate, Tessa Alexander.
