Developments are popping up all over Burlington. From the waterfront to the uptown core Burlington is a city that is growing.

“Our analysis is indicating that in active applications we have 55 hundred residential units and we have had serious enquires for an additional 6 thousand units that’s about 25 thousand people in total.” according to Mary Lou Tanner, Director of Planning and Building,

The plan includes building more in the urban areas. More specifically in mobility hubs at the Burlington Go Station. The condos that are already starting to sell out. The draw is that they are so close to transportation and they are affordable.

Vince Molinaro from Molinaro group said that they are looking at about a starting price of 250 thousand dollars upwards of 550 thousand so very affordable in terms of living in burlington.

The towers will include both commercial and residential units and become a community of at least 1800 people.

The city has committed to maintaining a rural boundary and is focusing now on plans to build up, build smart and build beautiful.

Adi Development Group has a number of properties on the go including the controversial 26 story condo tower on Martha Street.

Marianne Meed Ward a Burlington City Councilor says, “Council and staff and the community thought that was well beyond what was suitable for the site so we don’t support that and it is now at the Ontario Municipal Board for a hearing in February.

Tanner says the revises application still needs to be reviewed.

CEO Tariq Adi says “Since acquiring the hold out parcel, Adi has resolved many of what the city deemed to be issues. Adi has made a revised submission with key components being elimination of above grade parking and converting that to residential suites facing the lake.”
