Bon Jovi denying Bills sale

The debate about moving the Buffalo Bills to Toronto is heating up ahead of this year’s Bills in Toronto game on Sunday. Reports say Jon Bon Jovi may be joining the fight to make Toronto the team’s permanent home.
Bon Jovi is reportedly very interested in becoming an NFL owner one day, but he’s denying reports he’s in talks to buy the Bills. The singer’s rep says he has too much respect for owner Ralph Wilson to even consider buying the team until it’s actually up for sale.
The 95 year old Wilson has said he won’t sell the franchise during his lifetime.
Bon Jovi is reportedly interested in bringing the team to Toronto, and his friendship with Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment CEO Tim Leiweke and chair Larry Tanenbaum may come in handy.
There’s a need for a stadium bigger than Rogers Centre that would cost around a billion dollars. It would also cost $400 million to buy the team out of its new 10 year lease in Orchard Park, New York.
This morning premier Kathleen Wynne said she supports the idea of bringing the Bills to Toronto.
“I think that the more we can have events that create enthusiasm in the city and draw people from other jurisdictions to the city, that’s a good thing, so I would be supportive but my guiding principle, we wouldn’t want to hurt the Argos.”
This year’s Bills in Toronto game is Sunday at 4 pm against the Atlanta Falcons.
