Police say the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre Trenton and Canadian Coast Guard were conducting training exercises in the waters when they located the deceased man.

Members of the Norfolk County OPP crime unit were assisted by a police department in Ohio in order to identify the dead man.

Police say there is no foul play suspected in the death and it is not being treated as suspicious. No further details are expected to be released.

Norfolk County OPP Detachment Commander, Inspector Jodi Kays acknowledges the widespread help the OPP received in identifying the man.

“The OPP would like to thank the Fairport Harbor Police Department, media outlets and everyone that provided assistance during this investigation,” Kays said.
