Body found in Grand River identified

Police have identified the body found in the Grand River over the weekend, as 28-year old Erin Howlett of Elmira. Investigators say her death is considered suspicious, and homicide detectives are now working on the case.
Howlett’s body was found by teenagers swimming in the Grand River in Kitchener Friday afternoon. They were near Riverbend Drive, about an 18 minute drive from Elmira.
Family and friends posted a photo of Howlett on Facebook, saying she had been missing June 27th, and was last heard from while planning a trip to Toronto with someone they didn’t know.
Investigators are asking anyone who may have any further information on her companions or activities since June 20th to contact them immediately.
