(Updated) The Niagara Police marine unit is out on Lake Ontario, searching for a Grimbsy man whose boat was found on shore.
Jarett Scholl, 29, went fishing early yesterday. His boat was seen around 10 in the morning on the beach at Charles Daley Park, but he wasn’t reported missing until around 5 pm.
The Niagara Police marine unit has called in help from the Coast Guard and air crews from CFB Trenton. Police have sent drones out to search the shoreline, and Hamilton Police are searching the water west of the marina.
Earlier today an object was spotted, but it turned out to be a log. Jarett’s friend says he is hopeful he will return home.
Scholl is described as 6 feet tall, 175 pounds with short black/grey hair. Any with information on what might have happened to him is asked to contact Detective Constable Martyn Rosborough at 905-945-2211 extension 5436.
Editor’s Note: An earlier version of this story had misspelled Mr Scholl’s first name. This has been corrected.
