Blue Jays to play most 2020 home games in Buffalo

The Toronto Blue Jays will play the “majority” of their 2020 home games in Buffalo.

The team announced the decision Friday, ahead of their season opener at Tampa Bay.

Toronto’s first game in Buffalo will either be July 31 against the Philadelphia Phillies or Aug. 11 against the Miami Marlins.

The Jays were forced to find a new home for 2020 after the federal government rejected their bid to play in Toronto.

The club would have needed an exception to the traditional 14-day quarantine from the federal government to play in Toronto during the COVID-19 pandemic.
