Blackberry has signed a deal with Ford Motors to expand the use of the firm’s automotive and security software in Ford vehicles.

A team of Blackberry employees will work directly with Ford to increase how its technology is used to create safe, connected vehicles.

According to The Canadian Press, the head of Blackberry QNX, John Wall, said they hope to sign similar deals with other automakers in the future.

Blackberry’s QNX software already powers Ford’s interactive SYNC system and is in more than 60 million cars.
