Binbrook mother of four wins $100K in lottery

A woman from Binbrook got an early Christmas present this year after winning $100,000 in the lottery.

Heather Morrison, 51, said she checked her first two free tickets at the retailer but it wasn’t until she scanned the third ticket that she realized she had won. “The third ticket said, ‘Big Winner’ but I thought it was a thousand dollars,” she laughed.

The last six of the seven LOTTO 6/49 Encore numbers on Morrison’s ticket matched to win her the prize.

“This is my first big win,” said Morrison, while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto.

Morrison is the mother of four boys and says she plans on have an “awesome” Christmas and taking her family on a vacation.

“It still doesn’t feel real yet – but I’m so happy!” she said.

The winning ticket was purchased at Dollar Star on Highway 56 in Binbrook.

The next LOTTO 6/49 draw is Saturday with a jackpot of $9 million plus one guaranteed $1 million prize.
