Football fans are gearing up for a big weekend. the Ticats are getting ready for the Eastern Final, and the Mac Marauders are a day away from the Mitchell Bowl. Both teams need wins, to make their respective national finals.

Final preparations are underway for Sunday’s big game at Tim Hortons Field. the Hamilton Tiger-Cats will take on the Montreal Alouettes with the winner getting a ticket to the Grey Cup game.

Officials say that Sunday’s game is 100% sold out.

Also, Ticats merchandise was selling very quickly today. At Lime Ridge Mall everything seemed to be flying off the shelves. People seemed really pumped for Sunday’s big game.

On Saturday, the McMaster Marauders will also be playing this weekend. Mac is hosting the Mitchell Bowl.

“I’m really excited for the game. I think it should be a good one.”

“I’m really confident in the boys. I think they’ll win it.”

Students at McMaster are pumped to see their Marauders try to maul the Mount Allison Mounties on Saturday.

“I have a feeling we’re gonna’ be able to pull off the win. Mount Allison’s pretty strong. But I think with having to go through in the OUA will take where we need to be and that’s the Vanier next week.”

“The Mitchell Bowl’s always exciting.”

“Definitely exciting, good to see people into it. It’s like the whole campus is involved. It’s a great atmosphere.”

Sales at the gift shop have been brisk.

Adriana Minali, McMaster gift shop: “We definitely see a lot more students coming in. It’s great to see everyone wearing McMaster gear now.”

All that snow that fell over the past few days has been removed But that white stuff could still play a role in the big game.

Mark Alfano, McMaster Athletics: “The cold we’ve played in before but snow, this is the first time for sure that these guys have ever played with it. Even three years ago when we were out at the Uteck Bowl, in Moncton, we didn’t have to play in this in the past.”

If the Marauders win, they will also play next weekend for the Vanier Cup which they won last in 2011.

There are still ticket available for Saturday’s game. They have about 1,500 tickets left. You can get them online or the box office opens at two.
