Big budget showdown

Premier McGuinty huddling with NDP’s Horwath in effort to save budget, avoid election.
The budget goes to a vote tomorrow and with the Tories already vowing to oppose it, the minority Liberals need the NDP’s help to get it passed.
Horwath will meet in private with the Premier around 1pm.
The two parties met over the weekend and those discussions happened amid a massive protest Saturday in front of Queen’s Park.
Thousands demonstrated against the government’s proposed budget cuts that are intended to help lower the deficit.
If the budget isn’t passed in tomorrow’s vote, the government could fall, forcing the province’s second election in seven months.
