An Ottawa area chocolate company is getting some global recognition.

Hummingbird Chocolate’s Hispaniola bar has been named the best in
the world by the U.K. based Academy of Chocolate.

The chocolate bar won the academy’s prestigious Golden Bean award over the weekend.

Hummingbird co-owner Erica Gilmour says she hopes this inspires people to try more specialty chocolate.
