(Updated) The families of Paul Bernardo’s victims say they are devastated that the infamous murderer has applied for day parole.
Bernardo was convicted 20 years ago of murdering three girls, including Burlington’s Leslie Mahaffy and Kristen French of St Catharines. He was sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for 25 years.
However, a notice from Correctional Service Canada was sent out last week to the victims’ families’, saying Bernardo had applied for parole.
Criminal lawyer Daniel Brown says Bernardo’s chances of release from jail now or in the future are slim to none.
