Beautiful weather!

We haven’t had a day like this one in nearly 70 years. Temperatures soared well above 20 degrees across Southern Ontario; making it feel more like June outside rather than November. In fact this same day last year it was about ten degrees cooler.
Meteorologist Geoff Coulson at Environment Canada says we can thank the El Nino phenomena. Temperatures are about 10 degrees higher than they should be this time of year. “That’s the warmer than normal waters in the Pacific Ocean off the West coast of South America. It affects global circulation patterns and weather in different parts of the world.”
Environment Canada is predicting that many records will be rivalled or broken today in Southern Ontario. The last time it was 20 degrees on November 5th in the Hamilton area is back in 1948.
But Geoff Coulson says just because Novembers is starting off mild, doesn’t mean we will slide in to an easy winter. “Active weather is still possible. Snow squall activity off the Great Lakes, larger scale storm systems and again even the possibility of freezing rain events even though the temperatures are expected to be milder than normal.”
