A Canadian tourist is the prime suspect after a Calgary woman was badly beaten at a five star hotel in Mexico.

Mexican officials have confirmed that a Canadian tourist with injuries to one of his hands and his chin is the main suspect in the attack.

37 year old Sheila Nabb was found badly beaten in an elevator at the five-star, Mazatlan Hotel where she’d been staying with her husband.

Surveillance video shows a man about 25 years old kicking someone in the elevator where she was found.

No charges have been laid yet.

Nabb is now back in Canada.

Her uncle says she flew home to Calgary Thursday night.

She has severe facial injuries and hasn’t had facial reconstruction surgery yet.

She will continue her treatment here in Canada.
