Basement fire in Welland

There was a rude awakening for tenants in a Welland apartment building.

They were forced out just before one Thursday morning because of a fire in the basement of their three storey building.

The cause of that fire is still under investigation.

Once the smoke was cleared out the building, everyone was allowed back in.
