Barrie cop sentenced

A Barrie police officer is headed to jail for a year for viciously beating a man at a shopping mall three years ago.

Constable Jason Nevill tried to frame Jason Stern, the man he assaulted.

Nevill was convicted in June of assault causing bodily harm, attempting to obstruct justice and fabricating evidence. He is currently suspended without pay.
