Bargaining ballyhoo
It seemed somewhat fitting that a winter storm in Manhattan served as a backdrop as owners and players continue talks aimed at ending the NHL lockout.
It was classic winter weather, even though the league recently cancelled their winter classic game between the Detroit Red Wings and the Toronto Maple Leafs. It’s believed that yesterday’s negotiations included the make-whole provision, which involves honouring the full value of player contracts in effect before the collective bargaining agreement expired.
Meanwhile, Molson Coors says the work stoppage has damaged the beer company’s bottom line and that it will seek compensation from the league.
