Bait bike yields arrests

Hamilton police have charged two people with theft, after a baited bike set-up.

Police say they locked up a bike on Barton Street East near Milton Avenue Tuesday, and waited to see if anyone would attempt to steal it.

Just 30 minutes later, a man and women cut the lock from the bike and rode off.

Both were arrested.

A 42 year old woman and 47 year old man, both from Hamilton, are charged with theft under $5,000.

The man also faces an additional charge of possession under $5,000.
