Avalon agreement in Caledonia

The elected band council on the Six Nations Reserve says it’s reached a benefit agreement over a housing development in Caledonia.
McClung Properties plans to build 2700 housing units over 530 acres for it’s Avalon developments.
Six Nations says the benefits agreement includes the contribution of 200 acres to the Six Nations of the Grand River by McClung and one-third of the lands will be dedicated to the protection of environmental areas and park space.
The elected council says it will continue to to deal with the province, which as the crown, bears the responsibility to consult and accommodate Six Nations’ interest.
