Ashley Smith inquest resumes

The coroner’s inquest has resumed into the death of Ashley Smith.

At least 50 witnesses are set to testify during the second half of the inquest, including the warden and deputy warden from Grand Valley Institution in Kitchener where the 19-year-old died in 2007 while in an isolation cell.

The first half of the inquiry revealed that many people in the prison system cared deeply about Smith, but others cared more about their jobs.
