It seems that “Government Affairs” took on a new meaning in Ottawa, Friday.

More than 100 credit card transactions from government computers have now been linked to the hacked Ashley Madison website.

More than three quarters of those transactions are connected to the Department of National Defence but 25 have been linked to the House of Commons.

The Canadian Press sorted through more than 25-hundred files posted by the organization that hacked the computer website.

No names attached to the leaks have been released yet.

A news release from the board declined to address any specific questions about the leaks other than to say that there are strict rules for the use of Government computers by employees, and that every breach of those rules is dealt with, on an individual basis.

Some U.S. Government workers have also been identified by the hackers.

The pentagon has already begun to look into the list of people who used military email to connect with the Ashley Madison website.

In some cases, they are linked to sensitive jobs in the White House, Congress and the U.S. Justice Department.

Adultery is considered a chargeable offence under U.S. military regulations but not under Canadian law.
