As Gardiner crumbles, questions about Hamilton road safety

While many people are in their cars driving home from work on highways across the GTA, questions over the safety and conditions of the roads beneath the rubber are being raised.

In Toronto – where city councillors are grappling with the news that the Gardiner Expressway may not be safe to drive on within the next six years – they’re blaming the former administration of David Miller for stopping all work on the Gardiner in 2008, except for emergency repairs.

Lisa Hepfner’s been looking into whether the same problems could crop up on similar roads in the Hamilton area.
