Arsonist sentenced

A St. Catharines woman has been sentenced to a year in jail after she set fire to her own house last summer.

Firefighters had to run into the home to save two dogs and a cat trapped inside.

Damage was set at $55,000.

Colleen Woodfine admitted to setting the fire in the basement so her common-law spouse would have an excuse to miss his daughter’s graduation in Toronto.
