Arrests in Burlington trail assault

Two men have been arrested after an 18-year old was attacked on a trail in Burlington last week.

He was with two teenage girls on a park path near Cavendish and Upper Middle Road when they were robbed at gunpoint. During a fight, he was hit several times in the head and upper body. The two girls weren’t hurt. 18-year old Mackenzie Vendryes and 18-year old Shane Ryan, both of Burlington, have been charged with robbery with a firearm, wearing a disguise, aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.
