Arrest made in St. Catharines restaurant assault: Niagara police

Niagara police have identified and charged the man responsible for a serious assault after an argument at a St. Catharines restaurant in July
Investigators say two men were arguing on a patio on St. Paul Street between James Street and Garden Park on July 10.
The suspect then stood up and repeatedly punched the seated victim in the face, knocking him to the ground.
Police say the suspect and the group of people he had been sitting with left the patio.
Emergency crews arrived at the scene shortly before 9 p.m. to find the 60-year-old man suffering from serious injuries.

Paramedics transported him to a local hospital, but he has since been released.
Following nearly two months of efforts to identify the suspect, police say an arrest was made on Saturday.
Craig Donald Clement, 38, of St. Catharines has been charged with one count of assault causing bodily harm.
Clement remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing scheduled for Monday.
