Arrest in the murder of Alberta toddler and her father

It was the worst possible outcome to an Amber Alert in Alberta. The remains of 2 year old Hailey Dunbar-Blanchette were discovered yesterday and now the RCMP have charged a man in connection with her death, and the death of her father.

Police say Derek Saretzky, who was arrested yesterday, was an acquaintance of Terry Blanchette, but they won’t confirm how they knew each other. An Amber Alert was issued for Hailey Dunbar-Blanchette after her father was found murdered on Monday. Her remains were found yesterday in a rural area near Blairmore. Saretzky will appear in court on September 23rd.
