Apparent targeted shooting in Oakville sends 1 to hospital, assailant flees

Halton police are looking for a man who fled the scene in an apparent targeted shooting in Oakville that sent one person to hospital.
Just before 10:30 a.m. Saturday a man was shot outside his residence in the area of Wavecrest Street, Creek Path Avenue and Tawny Crescent. An exact address was not given by police.
A white compact-style SUV was seen approaching the home and a man was witnessed exiting the vehicle and immediately confronting the resident.
During the ensuing interaction, the victim sustained a gunshot injury. The man is being treated in hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The assailant fled in the SUV right after the shooting. No make, model or licence plate was obtained.
The suspect was described as wearing dark clothing and a mask covering the lower portion of his face.
Police say the victim appears to have been targeted during the shooting. They are actively investigating and would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed or have knowledge about the incident.
Police are also appealing to anyone who may have dash cam footage or surveillance images that may assist in the case.
