Anti-Ford protesters rally at city hall

A day after Toronto city council voted to strip Rob Ford of some of his power, dozens of residents gathered at city hall demanding the embattled mayor step down.
Protesters say city’s council’s move doesn’t go far enough and they want to see ford leave office immediatly.
Dozens of residents participated in today’s rally, holding signs and writing chalk messages calling for Ford’s resignation.
One demonstrator says his latest admission of buying illegal drugs while in office combined with vulgar comments made to the media are just further reasons for him to go.
Ford has apologized for the remarks.
On Monday, council will vote on a motion that would see Ford’s budget and office moved over to the Deputy Mayor, but Ford would still remain the face of the city.
Organizers of tomorrow’s Toronto Santa Claus parade have asked Ford to not attend for fear he might attract attention that would disrupt the event.
The mayor will begin hosting a new TV show Monday on Sun News Network with his brother Doug.
It will be called “Ford Nation.”
