Another fundraiser for Anya

People gathered to raise funds for Anya Martinez, 6, an Ancaster girl suffering from Leukemia.
A motorcycle ride and barbecue was held in Mount Hope Saturday afternoon, while a number of local businesses donated prizes to help the cause.
Anya was diagnosed with the disease four years ago, and after traditional medicine didn’t work, her parents began fundraising for a clinical trial in the U.S. that isn’t covered by the Ontario Health Insurance (OHIP), and could cost up to $800,000.
Saturday’s fundraiser was organized by Andrew Sfvrazza, who says he just wanted to help the Martinez family.
“I’m a parent, I’m a father, I have three young children,” said Sfvrazza. “This is what were here for, just to raise money.”
Anya’s parents have raised about $250,000 thanks to friends, family and the community.
Saturday’s goal was $5,000.
