Family of murdered Brantford man upset over 13-year sentence handed to his killer

Family, and friends of a Brantford man who was shot and killed nearly three years ago are outraged by the sentence handed down to their loved one’s killer.

Joel Scalzo was sentenced to 13 years for the manslaughter of Jeffrey Maxner, but with credit for time served, he has 9 years and 4 months left in jail.

The victim’s family says the justice system is broken.
