NDP leader Andrea Horwath is widely expected to hold on to the Hamilton Centre riding that she’s held since 2007.

In her last event in her local area before election day, Horwath was reaching out to her supporters one more time. The polls and people’s expectations are that Horwath will easily hold on to her Hamilton Centre riding. She won 65 per cent of the vote in the last election.

Horwath says her party is the one to deal with the riding’s big issues, like housing.

Hamilton Centre Green party candidate Sandy Crawley even supports his main opponent. “I have no expectation of unseating a candidate in a riding that has appropriately I think voted NDP for decades,” Crawley said.

Crawley says the green party can still make a difference and encourages the bigger parties to look at green policies.

Liberal candidate Ekaterini Dimakis told CHCH News that she sees voters losing faith in the system.

Progressive Conservative candidate Sarah Bokhari didn’t respond to requests for an interview.
