Ancaster man charged in children’s aid society fraud investigation

Peel Regional Police have charged two former members of Peel Children’s Aid Society after the pair allegedly defrauded the organization of more than a quarter of a million dollars.

Peel Children’s Aid Society (CAS) launched an internal investigation against the pair and terminated their employment before contacting Peel police in July.

Investigating officers discovered that the employees were allegedly working together to carry out a purchase and reimbursement scheme.

Marino Cader, 43, of Ancaster is charged with seven counts of fraud over $5,000 and five counts of uttering a forged document.

And Andre Paul, 46, of Acton is charged with three counts of uttering a forged document. He is the former property maintenance coordinator.

Cader is the former director of finance, property, and information technology for Peel CAS.

The two arrested men are scheduled to appear in court in Brampton in January.
