America’s Colonial Pipeline restarts following cyberattack, gas shortages continue

Friday’s cybersecurity attack on America’s Colonial Pipeline has brought fear and stress into the lives of people in the Southeastern U.S.

They have been waiting in long lines at gas stations amid distribution problems and panic-buying.

The pipeline delivers 45 per cent of the fuel consumed on the U.S. East Coast.

Colonial said it initiated the restart of pipeline operations late Wednesday night, but it will take several days for deliveries to return to normal.
