The Amazing Spider-Man 2

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is a superhero film directed by Marc Webb and the sequel to the 2012 Spider-Man reboot. The film stars Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker, the unassuming kid who lives a second life as New York City’s web-slinging hero. The film picks up after the events of the first film, with Peter coming to grips with his alter-ego and its associated responsibilities. But when three new villains threaten the city, including his old friend Harry Osborn, Peter finds himself fighting his biggest battle yet. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 co-stars Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Dane DeHaan, Colm Feore, Paul Giamatti, and Sally Field.

Sony is planning on expanding the Amazing Spider-Man franchise in the future, starting with two more spidey sequels in 2016 and 2018. There are also two spin-off films in the works: one focusing on Spider-Man’s popular enemy Venom (who made an appearance in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 3) which will be directed by Alex Kurtzman (People Like Us), and a second revolving around a group of villains known as the Sinister Six directed by Drew Goddard (Cabin in the Woods).
