A group of residents spent their Saturday cleaning up dozens of hypodermic needles illegally dumped on private property.

Beautiful Alleys is a group of volunteers that cleans up alleyways across the city.

Over two weeks ago a Central Hamilton homeowner found the syringes dumped in his backyard.

He tried to get the city’s help but instead he received a letter to clean the hazardous mess up himself.

Beautiful Alleys is trained for needle retrievals.

More than 120 alleyways are registered with Beautiful Alleys. they plan on having two major clean up’s every year.
