Alleged sex assault arrest

A Hamilton man has been arrested after allegedly sexually assaulting a woman he met on an online dating service.

Hamilton police say a woman in her thirties reported the assault took place on Saturday.

45 year old Markus Schmitt has been charged with sexual assault with a weapon.

Police are continuing to investigate and are concerned there may be more victims.

They are asking anyone who believes they may have been assaulted by Schmitt to contact them.
