‘All hands on deck’ Hamilton police continue search for missing 78-year-old woman

Hamilton police say search efforts will continue Tuesday for 78-year-old Denise Gloster.
Gloster was last seen Sunday evening in the area of Mineral Springs Rd. and Slote Rd.
The missing woman’s daughter, Kyra, said her mother got up during the night and walked away from her home.
Gloster has early onset dementia and is described as an avid walker.
Her family says she has gone missing before and travelled nearly 20 km before she was found.
Hamilton police say the family, officers and members of the community came together Monday and worked throughout the overnight hours to try and locate the missing woman.
“It’s rural. There are ponds. We’ve deployed our Argos (amphibious vehicle), our ATVs, our bicycles, our ACTION team, our public order unit as of this morning, and our marine unit,” said Cst. Krista-Lee Ernst. “Everyone is all hands on deck to locate Denise.”
Ernst says Hamilton police has also been working with Hamilton Fire and Mohawk College. Teams were utilizing drones to fly over the rural areas until roughly 1 a.m. Tuesday. but were unable to locate the 78-year-old.
Police are making a plea to residents in Ancaster to check their properties and outbuildings for Gloster.
If she is found, please call 911. Anyone with additional information on her whereabouts is asked to contact 905-546-8965.
